Definition
Code-128
- Code-128
- Code-128 is a high-density linear (1D) barcode standard supporting the full ASCII range. It is widely used in logistics because it is compact, reliable on cheap label stock, and readable by every commodity scanner. Sustain360's binning workflow prints Code-128 labels at the station for every part, every shelf, and every bin location. The same labels are read at picking, at the counter, and at pickup, against a keyboard-emulating HID scanner that needs no driver. The platform's label templates are ZPL files, customisable per yard, with the Code-128 element embedded alongside human-readable text — the part description, source VIN, condition grade, and shelf code. Code-128 is the default; QR codes are also supported for cases where a 2D code is preferable (small parts, mobile-only workflows). Bigger label surfaces typically use Code-128 because it scans reliably even when scuffed or partially obscured on a yard floor.
